Conceived as a private retreat where the owner could escape on weekends and holidays, this project makes the most out of a limited building area and fairly strict neighborhood design guidelines. Anticipating much time at the beach or on the large outdoor porches, the living spaces are efficient, with few interior walls downstairs.

Natural stucco, a concrete tile roof and minimal exterior ornament help make the house a serene neighbor in a lively beach community.
